Cooke & Hutchinson Lawyers would like to congratulate our local State Member for Redcliffe, Yvette D’Ath on her appointment as the State’s new Attorney General.

Ms D’Ath brings a wealth of political experience to this vitally important role. While serving as the Federal member for Petrie for two terms, Ms D’Ath took on the role of Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency. In 2013, this role was expanded and became the Parliamentary Secretary for Climate Change, Industry and Innovation.

“We welcome the announcement and congratulate Ms D’Ath on her appointment as Queensland’s new Attorney General,” said Cooke & Hutchinson Managing Director Dan Hutchinson.

“The Labor Party has pledged to restore faith in Government practice, Ms D’Ath is well suited to help in this endeavour. Since becoming the State Member for Redcliffe last year, Redcliffe locals have benefitted from Ms D’Arth’s political experience. Yvette D’Ath had the unenviable task of restoring faith and trust to this electorate that has been so severely eroded by her predecessor.”

“We look forward to Ms D’Ath bringing her political and legal experience to the position of Attorney General, particularly in relation to the new Government’s pledge to enhance consultation with the profession and adopt a considered approach to legislation.”
